TGV Cinemas Opens in Bukit Mertajam, Miri, Seri Manjung, Petaling Jaya
and Kulaijaya.

Cinemas, one of Malaysia’s leading
exhibitor and multiplex cinema operators is concluding the year with a bang
with the opening of five new locations in AEON Bukit Mertajam,Penang; AEON Kulaijaya, Johor; AEON Seri Manjung, Perak; Permaisuri Imperial City Mall (PICM) Miri,
Sarawak and Jaya Shopping Centre,
Selangor.
The first to open will be in Bukit
Mertajam and Miri as their first foray to East Malaysia on Dec 18. Next, will be Kulaijaya, Seri
Manjung and Jaya by Christmas.

Collectively, the five new cinemas has 35 screens with 4,364 seats. TGV
Cinemas Bukit Mertajam and AEON Manjung
both have seven halls, TGV Cinemas Jaya and PICM have eight halls and TGV cinemas
Kulaijaya has five. All halls
are fitted with the state of the art Dolby
Digital sound system and Christie®
CP2220 a digital cinema projector system. In addition, the first
row of each hall in TGV Cinemas PICM and Jaya has been fitted with its iconic
Beanie seats (bean-bag) to
make the viewing experience in the front row more comfortable and relaxing.
Subsequently,
TGV Cinemas will have a total of 27 multiplex cinemas all across Malaysia with 219 screens and a total capacity of more than 37,500 seats.

Cinemas shared that the opening of these five locations, especially in Miri
are pivotal to TGV Cinemas. “Firstly,
the
opening of TGV Cinemas PICM is significant to our growth and
development as it marks their first cinema in East Malaysia. This will pave the
way for two more in Kota Kinabalu and Kuching respectively by 2016,” said Dibbayawan.
“Secondly,”
he added, “these new locations also marks our on-going
passion to share and enhance the cinema-going experience for movie lovers all
over Malaysia.”
He elaborated that in today’s day and age, watching a movie is
no longer just about the movie, but it is also the experience of enjoying it in
its cinematic glory on the big screen, with the state of the art sound system
with your friends and loved ones.
“This is precisely why our new
locations are located either in central business district areas, housing areas
or neighbourhood retail malls. Each one represents a strategic location whereby
friends, colleagues and family patronage and spend time together,” said Dibbayawan.
To
celebrate the new cinemas, TGV Cinemas
will be organising an Open House in TGV Cinemas PICM and AEON Bukit Mertajam which includes free screenings of blockbuster movies
for the public and also giving out 1000
popcorn sets at each location (while
stocks last).
“We
would like to welcome all to our free
screenings on December 17 at 2pm and 5pm respectively and the movies which will be screened are Maleficent, Transformers: Age of Extinction, Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy
and Interstellar.,” Dibbayawan added excitedly.
In
addition to the free screenings, TGV Cinemas
will also be organising the 30 Days of Goodies
in all their new locations whereby each day, customers can claim a free
goodie from TGV Cinemas such as
movie passes, popcorn and drink vouchers as well as movie premiums.
“This
is just the beginning. In time, we be sharing more of our other unique features
such as our TGV MovieClub, which is
our loyalty programme and special event screenings such as our TGV Family Screening sessions, which
are becoming increasingly popular amongst young families and TGV Halls of Horror. Moreover, we also
look forward to sharing our innovative concession offerings like our Popcorn Royale which is our signature
popcorn, innovative popcorn flavours
such as corny cheese, roasted chicken, kimchi and curry,” elaborated Dibbayawan.
